a post

I could think of things to write if you guys gave me some ideas.

I have been off the sugar, except for a few jelly bellies, and am starting to feel fewer cravings.  I am starting to feel better, too.

One thing I am really bad about is eating veggies.  I just don't like to eat them.  When I have them, I usually enjoy them, but I don't go out of my way to get them.  I am very deficient.
What are your favorite veggies?

Veggies are a pain for me too... I have to force myself to eat them... now if I saturated (well maybe not saturated, but you get the point)them in butter or some horrible creamy alfreado sauce I'd eat them more frequently, but that seems counterproductive.

I like salad with fresh veggies - spinach, carrots, brocolli, squash, cucumbers, green and red peppers, and whatever else the salad bar offers. I just wish my fridge could be stocked with all of those things and more with no effort on my part and of course no expense... Enough of my fantasy...

I like baked sweet potatoes or in that horribly delicious casserole with pecans on top, corn on the cob, brocolli, stir fry veggies, baked potato (with butter and sour cream - I know BAD).

So I need lessons on healthy veggies or at least a veggie cook to live with me... oh back to the fantasy I was supposed to leave behind...

I like spinach w/ vinigar on it anad fresh spinach in a salad. Beets, corn on cob that's been grilles with the husk off (brush the corn cob with olive oil and put sea salt on it and grill it until the kernals are browned. good!!! I like grilled zucchini, g. peppers w/ onions in foil grill nice too. Add seasoning and bacon and it's heaven. Squash is good sauted (sp), mushrooms, fresh green beans, I don't care for mushy overcooked veggies much. I like dark green lettuce(don't know what its called) and tomatoes. but for all of that I don't eat as much as I like. Lazy to clean the stuff and its so expensive to buy it.

I hear you Julie, maybe we can share a cook who will clean our veggies for us and a generous benefactor who will pay for all the veggies our families can eat... oh back to my fantasy world again....

Cleaning and getting the veggies prepped is the thing I do not like..I like salads..but not he time it takes to put it together. I like broccoli and cauliflower..

I really like doing a stir fry with low sodium stuff..that gets my veggies in..in a yummy way.

We all think about the same. We just don't like preparing veggies. I like raw veggies, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, tomatoes (good ones), peppers of all colors, mushrooms. I love sweet potatoes, even just plain. My problem is I love other bad stuff more! I, too, have a sugar problem and feel better if I don't eat it. BUT....everybody has a big but....it is so hard for me to resist. I use Splenda and it tastes pretty good.

Speaking of Splenda...

Kay what are your thoughts on Splenda - is it the same as the artificial sweeteners or is it still considered sugar? I've heard it goes through some chemical processes to change it to make it calorie free...
